Handcrafted, custom salvaged wood furniture made in Southeastern NC

about Old Dock Woodshop

Jason Rogers, Owner of the Old Dock Woodshop
Jason Rogers grew up in a farming community outside of Mooresville, NC and began wood working at a young age.  Watching his father, a builder/carpenter by trade, Jason learned his way around a woodshop early.  Being from a rural area, reclaim and recycle was the norm; a “use what you have to work with” mentality. Jason graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelors of Science in Horticulture, so it’s easy to understand his love for the great outdoors and how it translates into working with wood.  As a horticulturist, he is familiar with trees of all varieties, knows their strengths and weaknesses and is confident in choosing the right wood for the project.  He is passionate about repurposing quality materials and ensuring each piece constructed has a unique story.

Our Materials

In the United States, wood once functioned as the primary building material.  Not only was it strong and relatively inexpensive, it was also abundant.  Today, many of the types of lumber  that were once plentiful are only available through reclamation. The Old Dock Woodshop prides itself in reclaiming a bygone material, recycling it, and creating beautiful handcrafted products.  All of our materials have had years of natural weathering before being reborn into a piece your family will cherish for years to come. Our barn doors, tables, mantles, custom shelves and more all have a rich beginning and story starting right here in the Carolinas.
